Trained in theatre, their practice has since expanded into performance, text, and video. This research is grounded in history and centred on rememory, memory lived in ambiguity across multiple belongings. Situated within a post-migrant condition, recent work draws on fragments and rituals shaped by transnational forms of remembrance.
This embodied knowledge informs their participatory approach to critical mediation and teaching. Aina Rea holds a Bachelor in Art Education from the Zurich University of Arts and is currently implementing educational formats for the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst.
Their work and performances has been shown at Villa Renata and Galerie Durchgang in Basel, the Magadino Art Department in Ticino, the Zurich Art Weekend in 2025 and 2026, Atelier Righini Fries Zurich, Theater Basel and Schauspielhaus Zurich, Zürcher Theaterspektakel and the Cabaret Voltaire.
